How does it work?

Your Nissan Patrol is equipped with a computer to control the shift sequence and 'lock-up' parameters. To avoid transmission damage you should never tow in overdrive. BUT, the torque-converter lock-up only occurs when in overdrive. The Trans Locker allows the transmission to lock-up the torque-converter in third gear (not overdrive) and gives you control over the speed at which the lock-up occurs. Once the torque-converter is locked, the engine revs less, generating less heat, saving fuel by up to 15%.
